What you can expect

Each translation project undergoes a thorough process including consultation with the client, terminological research, the actual translation, a review (done by me or another professional translator I work with), and formatting.

I work on each project based on your specifications and needs and make use of the most advanced tools of the translation industry, such as memoQ (a translation memory) and InDesign (a layout and design application). I also keep my skills current by participating in continuing education programs, webinars, and conferences, particularly those offered by the American Translators Associations.

Price

Several factors are considered when pricing a translation project, including the language combination, format, search engine optimization, and how soon the final product is needed.

When requesting an estimate, make sure to include the following:

– What the project is about, the context, a description of the target audience and which format will be used.

– The source and target languages.

– Due date; if a translation is urgent, a rush rate may need to be considered.

– Your company’s information, including your Tax ID, address and other contact information.

Translation and review

To translate means to reproduce a message or text originally composed in one language (the source language) in another (the target language). Each language reflects a point of view. This point of view cannot be translated literally and needs to satisfy the purpose of the translation. The translation process helps to establish proper communication and to allow the target audience to receive the message in an understandable way. The text needs to be viewed from different angles: Is the translation accurate? Does the text flow smoothly and sound natural in the target language? The review after the initial translation ensures that both requirements are met.

The way a translation is presented is also important. I’m happy to help you get the translated text into its final format using InDesign or other layout or design software.

proofreading

It’s always important to check one’s work. Proofreading ensures that a translated text is correct and looks beautiful on the formatted page. Let me help you ensure that your beautifully crafted text looks the part.
