About me

I am a professional translator working from English and German into Italian (my native language) and from German and Italian into English (currently my most proficient language).

I’m based in Norwood, Massachusetts, near Boston, an area that I find resembles some aspects of Europe.

Languages have been my passion since I was little. It seemed strange that anyone could speak anything other than the “normal” language, which for me at that time was Italian. But being surrounded by relatives who spoke German, I had to find out how that was possible and to learn to emulate them so well that no one would notice that I wasn’t German. This desire is what set me on a path of language discovery. I noticed that I had a proclivity for English and was able to make the most of instruction in school. I was also able to learn German with near native proficiency, thanks to an opportunity to live in Germany for a few years.

The expertise I acquired and my ability to overcome language barriers enabled me to gain admittance to the exclusive Scuola Superiore di Lingue Moderne at the University of Trieste where I studied translation and interpreting.

I have worked in the language field ever since, and while I have mostly worked as a translation project coordinator, all aspects of translation have always been at the center of my activity. My interest in continuing to work with languages and build bridges between cultures as well as a passion for protecting the environment led me to start my own business as a free-lance translator. I am happy to put my talents and competencies to good use, focusing primarily on what I am passionate about: sustainable tourism, travel, and environmental issues. I am also technically savvy, learning new applications easily, and I offer desktop publishing and subtitling services as well as help translating a website.
